The 'stunning' Mitac Mio A701 is the latest product from Mio Tech. It will be the most up to date mobile phone PDA around, and will include an integrated GPS receiver for use with satellite navigation.
The latest offering from Mio, the Mitac Mio A701, will be its first GPS-enabled Windows Mobile-based smart phone. With the SirfStar III chipset incorporated the Mio A701 is capable of quick, reliable satellite fixes. Tri-Band GSM / GPRS phone functionality ensures that the Mio A701 can be used in most countries and for internet and e-mail access. Windows Mobile 5 has been supplied and this provides new features including persistent memory and the latest office applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Media Player 10.
The basic specifications released, the Mio A701 device will be based on a 520MHz Intel XScale PXA270 processor including 192MB of memory, of which at least 64MB will be ROM. The phone runs Windows Mobile 5.
The smart design of the Mitac Mio A701 handset will be equipped with a 2.7in touchscreen, 240 x 320 display and a 1.3 megapixel camera. Its radio supports tri-band GSM with GPRS. Bluetooth 1.2 connectivity is on board too. There's a SD / MMC slot on the side for memory expansion.
The GPS receiver is integrated within the body of the Mitac Mio A701, so there's no flip up antenna or receiver stub. The Mio A701 uses the latest SirfStar III chipset. Mio are launching the Mio A701 as a phone with PDA functionality, rather than the other way round.
This new Mio is positioned as a Sat Nav navigation PDA, and mobile phone device in one beautiful unit, which can also be used for handheld navigation on foot.
The Mitac Mio A701 PDA phone has many new updates & performance improvements:
